Description
Lovely peasant blouse from the village of Torysky in the Spis region of eastern Slovakia. This is a Greek Catholic Rusyn village tucked up in the Carpathian mountains. This Rusyn village has preserved its ethnic clothing traditions into the 21st century and its folk costumes are highly collectable. The blouse features hand embroidery on the cuffs and collar. Tightly smocked on the front and fastens with tie strings. The body is made of homespun linen while the sleeves are made of cotton. A typical short style that is characteristic of Torysky folk dress as it would have originally been covered by a vest. An authentic element of Rusyn peasant wear for your wardrobe or collection.
